Dj Andy j house legacy

Background

I started doing mobile discos at 15, playing weddings, birthday parties, and other events. Then, in 1988, I went clubbing for the first time and heard a track that completely blew me away—“Voodoo Ray” by A Guy Called Gerald. It mesmerised me. That moment changed everything.

I started buying records and got myself a set of Fischer belt-drive decks and a Tandy mixer. From there, I kept upgrading—eventually getting a double disco unit with pitch control and improving my skills. We used to throw illegal after-club parties using belt-drive decks again. Then, in 1992, we put on a rave where John Kelly was the headline DJ. He played on my decks while I watched in awe.

That was it — I was hooked. The next day, I went out and bought my first Technics 1200s.

From there, I entered local DJ competitions, landed a few gigs, and started playing in bars and clubs—mainly in the North East but also scoring sets in Ibiza, Holland, and Manchester. Then, life took a turn.

Fast forward to 2015— Refreshed and ready to get back into it. I bought my fourth set of decks and started playing again. I landed a bar residency and called it House Legacy, which I also took to 212 Radio UK. For the past three years, I’ve been doing a show on Divine Radio London, keeping the old-school vibes alive.

I love Acid House, always up for a bit of funk, but most of all, I just want to put a smile on people’s faces.
